Performance:

The performance of the Gamma bracing frames are detailed in the below table. The values for Wind and Earthquake are obtained from testing and evaluation carried out in accordance with NZS3604:2011 and P21 [2010] test and evaluation procedures.

Compliance Statement & New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) Requirements

The Gamma Bracing System when installed in accordance with the installation details will comply with the New Zealand building code requirements shown below.

CLAUSE B2 DURABILITY OBJECTIVE
B2.1: The objective of this provision is to ensure that a building will throughout its life continue to satisfy the other objectives of the code.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENT
B2.2: Building materials, construction methods shall be sufficiently durable to ensure that the building, without reconstruction or major renovations, satisfies the other functional requirements of the code throughout the life of the building.

PERFORMANCE
B2.3: From the time a code of compliance certificate is issued, building elements shall, with only normal maintenance, continue to satisfy the performances of this code for the lesser of the specified intended life of the building, if any, or:

  1. For the structure, including building elements such as floors and walls, which provide structural stability: the life of the building being not less than 50 years.

PURPOSE OF PRODUCT
To provide a durable, reliable and cost effective building element for the structural and bracing performance levels as specified within this manual.

SCOPE OF ACCEPTABLE USE
Acceptable for use as structural bracing systems for both commercial & residential buildings. The Gamma Bracing Frame is located within the cavity of the wall and is not exposed to external weather conditions; its components are manufactured from materials that have protective coatings to resist corrosion during the construction period.

LIMITATIONS OF USE
For use in the interior cavity of internal and external walls in accordance with manufacturers installation instructions.

WHO CAN USE
Accredited installers, certified builders/tradesmen. Those with knowledge and experience within the building and construction industry.

HEALTH & SAFETY
It is important to follow good site practice at all times and to ensure appropriate safety precautions are taken when working with Gamma bracing product range and all supporting components.

COMPATIBILITY WITH ASSOCIATED PRODUCTS
The Gamma Bracing Frame and it’s components are compatible with all associated products that meet the NZ Building Code.

PRODUCT DURABILITY
The Gamma Bracing Frame meets the durability requirements of Clause B2 of the NZBC (as above) when installed in accordance with the manufacturers installation instructions. The Gamma Bracing Frame is made using GalvSteel TM (Axxis 550) which has been developed and tested by New Zealand SteelTM for local conditions. Galvanised with 100% Zinc coating it is supported by a 50 year durability statement.

PRODUCT WARRANTY
Gamma Bracing Frame is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
The Gamma Bracing Frame is labelled with the name “Gamma” along with production and test standard information.

PRODUCT MAINTENANCE
Gamma Bracing Frame does not require maintenance. However the following action is to be taken should:
a) The Gamma Bracing Frame be subjected to mechanical damage, then the Gamma Bracing Frame must be replaced
b) The Gamma Bracing Frame be subjected to high moisture conditions, “no attention is required”
